Sheri, Owner/Stylist

Sheri is a 3rd generation hairdresser. Her grandma owned a very successful salon called “The Powder Puff Beauty Shoppe” in Wayland Square. Sheri’s dad cofounded Christiaan’s in 1971. Sheri grew up in the beauty business. Her first memory of actually working was in the blizzard of ’78. We were snowed into the salon along with some stylists. Clients came in off the street and wanted a haircut. So Sheri was the receptionist for several days when she was ten.

Sheri started hairdressing school at 18 and immediately was working at Christiaan’s as an assistant. She was trained by one of our Israeli stylists and soon became a stylist/colorist. Sheri is a warm, caring person that wants everyone to be happy. Her clientele grew rapidly. She also attends every class on styling and color, becoming an expert.
Sheri’s main responsibility now is hiring/training all new staff, the continual education of all staff and the daily running of the salon/spa while still retaining a clientele; styling and coloring. Sheri is very happily married with three children. Her daughter Tasha is our esthetician and helps run the salon. Sheri loves being busy between her home, family and her salon.

Carol, Stylist/Colorist

Hello, my name is Carol! I am a proud, single mother of two wonderful daughters. I enjoy gardening, the outdoors, sewing, and cannot resist a good book! Becoming a hairstylist was something I began experimenting with as a teenager, getting my hands on any friends or family willing to subject themselves to to my growing passion. In my twenties, I backpacked all over Europe, Asia and North Africa; hungry to experience other cultures and ways of living.
I am a senior stylist with more than 40 years working experience in this profession (16 years abroad– in Amsterdam). My journey through cosmetology began in the 1970’s here in Providence, with Christiaan’s Salon. The majority of my education /training is with Toni & Guy and Goldwell. I specialize in haircuts (ranging anywhere from a classic style to cutting edge trends), and the application of balayage highlights. What makes me unique is not only my many years of experience, but also the work I’ve done internationally (ie. fashion shows in Paris, photo shoots in Bali). My goal is not only to provide you with a low maintenance look –that you are able to maintain yourself, but something you can fall in love with!

Carla, Stylist/Colorist

Carla graduated Empire Beauty School in 2011, and then began training under prestigious master stylists at two upscale salons. Her natural talent and hunger for the industry landed her continuing education opportunities at Orlando's Bumble and Bumble academy for extensive styling techniques. Having curly hair herself, Carla has a niche for conquering unruly textures; dry cutting and short styles are her favorite!

Carla is a Goldwell Master Colorist, and regularly attends classes at the California and New York City locations. She specializes in dimensional color such as balayage, ombre, and intensive color corrections. Carla is also certified in hair extensions, Keritan complex and Keritan smoothing treatments.

"To create a subtle change or completely transform a client's look is a rewarding and humbling experience." Carla loves doing fashion forward hair/makeup for photoshoots, weddings, and any opportunity that feeds her passion!

She truly believes that inspiration can be found anywhere! After many years of experimenting on your own hair color(s) she feels no better satisfaction than making sure each client feels beautiful and confident before they leave the salon. Kate has one beautiful daughter and when she's not working or attending continuing education workshops, she can be found at her daughter's dance classes, soccer games, or relaxing outside with a good book.

Katie, Stylist/Colorist
In High school I always knew I was meant to do something artistic and creative, so I gravitated towards doing hair.  I graduated Aveda School of Cosmetology about two years ago.  This school really focuses on the client having a calming/relaxing experience at the salon.  I enjoy doing color, updos and anything that might be a challenge.  I also dabble in painting and photography.
