The Magic of Dry Shampoo
Updated: Jan 8, 2021

Dry shampoo has become one of the most popular selling products in the salon. It can be the most useful and transformative product you will use on your hair…if used properly. We often have clients that tell us they bought it, but are not using it because of the powdery residue. So, we have created this little “how to” to solve the mystery of dry shampoo!
Hold the bottle upright about 4 inches from your scalp. You want to direct short sprays of the product into the areas that are looking oily (temples, your part, the high point of the head, back hairline).
Once you are done with the application, allow the product to sit & do its job for 3-5 minutes.
Take a brush (we suggest the Wet Brush) and gently brush the areas where you applied the spray, forcing the product to fall off of the head. Tipping your head upside down can be helpful, especially with long hair.
Style as desired.
Enjoy the rest of your good hair day!!
Besides absorbing oil, there are a couple other uses for dry shampoo!
If your hair is clean but you would like some texture for a messy braid or bun spray some dry shampoo into the hair for some much needed hold, we recommend KMS Makeover Spray for this job. Remember to brush out to avoid a powdery residue.
We have all been guilty of applying to much product into freshly washed hair. To absorb the excess product spray dry shampoo in to the areas needing help, try Goldwell Ultra Volume Dry Shampoo to get rid of product and add some volume.
Some people have great luck with applying at night before bed. Apply to the areas that get oily, put hair in a high pony or a bun, and go to sleep. Brush out in the morning and style as desired!
